Dane Hewlett is Director of Training and Organizational Development at OPTIR. In addition to leading the professional development and training function, Dane conducts qualitative research (especially focus groups) and assists individual departments in areas such as team building and problem solving. He also assists in the coordination of VQI activities.

Dane comes to us from Cornell University where he served for four years as Senior Organizational Development Consultant specializing in training, leadership development, and group process facilitation. He is certified in the two most popular programs offered by OPTIR, the leadership program designed by Achieve Global and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Dane has extensive experience in higher education having headed up continuing education programs at Penn State (Scranton Campus) and at Wilkes University. He spent the first part of his professional career in corporate banking.

Dane received his doctorate from Fielding Graduate University; his doctoral research focused on advanced stages of adult development and its practical application to leadership and organizational development. He also holds a M. A. in Human Resources from the University of Scranton and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
